{"id":5,"date":"2014-08-28T14:26:11","date_gmt":"2014-08-28T18:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/standard-template.blog.yorku.ca\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2015-07-17T12:05:11","modified_gmt":"2015-07-17T16:05:11","slug":"first-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/obesitysymposium.info.yorku.ca\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<h5 class=\"hide-if-no-js\" style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">Cardiovascular Health: From knowledge translation to application<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000080\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">November 5 &amp; 6, 2015<\/span><\/h2>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">YORK UNIVERSITY - TORONTO, CANADA<\/span><\/h5>\n<blockquote>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">FROM NEW <span style=\"color: #1f1f8c\">TECHNOLOGIES<\/span> TO PREVENTION<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In just a few decades, new technologies have emerged that can significantly change the way we manage cardiovascular health, whether this is prevention, management of risk factors, to promote healthy behavior or to better treat cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On the initiative of the Faculty of Health and the Embassy of France in Canada, this symposium will gather international scientists that use new approaches to convey better management of chronic cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #1f1f8c\">Themes<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\"Omics\" approaches<\/li>\n<li>Biomarkers of cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<li>Physical activity and cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<li>New technologies and cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<li>E-health and cardiovascular diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #1f1f8c\">Scientific Sessions<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Molecular markers of cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<li>E-health and cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<li>Physical activity intervention and cardiovascular health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #0b0ba3\"><strong>Call for Abstracts<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers are invited to submit abstracts.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #0b0ba3\">Session 1: Molecular markers of cardiovascular health.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Abstracts related to novel strategies to identifying molecular markers or targets for the treatment or the prevention of chronic cardio-metabolic diseases will be considered.<br \/>\nThis might include:<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cOmics\u201d approaches and bioinformatics for the study of cardio-metabolic disease<br \/>\n\u2022 Biomarkers of cardiovascular health or diseases<br \/>\n\u2022 New models to study chronic cardio-metabolic diseases<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #0b0ba3\">Session 2: E-Health and cardiovascular health<\/span><\/h6>\n<p>Abstracts related to new technologies for cardiovascular health and the treatment and management of cardio-metabolic diseases at the level of the individual or the community will be considered.<br \/>\nThis might include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Computing science for cardiovascular health<br \/>\n\u2022 E-health from knowledge translation to<br \/>\n\u2022 Community-based research using new technologies<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #0b0ba3\">Session 3: Physical activity intervention for cardiovascular health<\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Abstracts related to novel approaches and strategies to promote healthy behavior in particular an active lifestyle.<br \/>\nThis might include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitoring physical activity<br \/>\n\u2022 Community-based research and physical activity<br \/>\n\u2022 New approach to promote physical activity in population at risk due to chronic diseases or conditions such as\u00a0 o<em>besity, diabetes, aging, cardiovascular disease.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>There is opportunity for both oral and poster presentations.
